The Sony Play Station 3: Basics.
The PlayStation 3 or PS3 was first officially announced in May, 2005, at a press conference in Los Angeles. The design of the console includes many successful standards established by the original playstation and the Playstation 2 or PS2, but it also offers some new features that distinguish it from its predecessors as well as its competition.Fittingly, the central feature of the PS3 is its CPU or central Proccessing unit, which was co-developed by Toshiba, IBM and Sony. The PS3's Central processor uses seven SPE's or: Synergistic Processing Elements plus an eighth for "redundancy," and is designed to handle multiple operations. Graphics are produced through the RSX GPU, which was co-developed with Nvidia. The console has 256MB of XDR RAM for use by the CPU, and another 256MB of GDDR3 VRAM for use by the graphics chip.PlayStation 3 games can be written to DVD or Blu-ray discs, the higher density format co-developed by Sony and Toshiba. Like the PS2, the PS3 is able to play, Playstaion and PS2 games, as well as PS3 games. It can also read and play audio, video, and other files from a variety of media formats, now on to the shape of the PS3, the PlayStation 3 console is similar in size but is a little "flatter" so-to-speak, than that of its very close relative the Playstation 2, It can be operated in either a horizontal or vertical position. When laid flat, the PS3 case has a square-ish shape, and its top has a front-to-back arch. Its case is a silvery gray plastic, with a glossy finish, with only the disc drawer plainly visible along its front. Four USB ports are clinicaly hidden behind a front panel of the PS3. More so than its close counter-parts: (the Play station and the Play station 2) the PlayStation 3 was designed for more communication and compatibility with other electronic devices. In addition to its Bluetooth functionalities, the console has Ethernet ports and capacity for a IEEE 802.11 b/g "Wi-Fi" connection. Internet-connected gamers can access the internet, chat with online friends, and download content, even while playing.
Now, before I share my opinion about the PS3 I'll share some information about the Xbox360.
Xbox360: Basics
The Xbox 360 is the second console produced by Microsoft, and was created in cooperation with IBM, ATI, and SIS. The Xbox Live service allows consumers to play online with friends and download content such-as arcade games, game demos, trailers, TV shows, and movies. The Xbox 360 is the sequal so to speak to the Xbox, and holds a high competition with with Sony's PS3 and even the Nintendo Wii. The Xbox 360 was officially unveiled on MTV in May 2005, with detailed launch and game info later released that month. The console sold out completely at release in all regions except in Japan. Worldwide: 25 million (as of December 19, 2008,approx) units have been sold worldwide. The system is availible with a 20, 60 or 120 GB Hard Disk Drive.
Now, for my opinion...
I have many mixed opionons about both consoles, each has their good and bad points, However if I do seem to be biased in anyway I apologise in advance...Now, let me begin by discussing an easy topic such as the Internet gaming and content availible with both. If your the serious type of gamer, one that likes the idea of joining clans and such online organisations associated with internet gaming I definately advise you towards buying an Xbox360, Now the reason I am saying this is because I played Call of duty 4 (online) on the Xbox360 for about 6 months and I have played it on the PS3 for about 6 months and the crutial difference I have noticed is one: The lagg, and also the quality of players, I'm not nessercerily talking about skill, but the lack of seriousness and willingness they have about playing the game properly. About one out of 10 have head-sets and the ones that do normally are babberling morons, or make insane noises that deafen you, theres also another difference here, on the Xbox 360, you would just click the players name/view gamer card/ mute...job sorted, on the PS3 you can't actualy mute in the lobby so your going to have to put up with 14 year old american kids playing hip-hop at you...
however you can still mute in game on the score list. I have also noticed that on the PS3 its alot harder to get into a decent game with a good connection, and when you do, you normally get booted due to the stupid host leaving or poor connection to the host. But its not all bad playing is still fun and enjoyable. Right, the Xbox online gaming, brilliant... the culture on Xbox Live is second to none, nine out of ten have head sets, infact all players on the Xbox360 should have a headset, (seeing as you get one free when you buy an Xbox360) however there is a big difference with the PS3 and Xbox360 when it comes to internet gaming, this is, yes can you guess? Money! You have to pay to play Online with the Xbox its a whopping £39.99 a year, where as with the Play Station 3 its 100% and totally free! maybe this is why there is such a difference is the quality of players and culture surrounding each consoles online community?
anyway thats me done for today, its 04:48 and i'm hungry tiered and have neck ache, happy gaming people.

i totally agree with everything you said about music in todays society .
ReplyDeleteMy opinion on CoD4 vs World of War. i think world of war is far better the old CoD4 as it to do with history and the last one was just made up and what for me makes world at war better is that when you are doing the campaign the levels get harder the further you progress and CoD4 did not do that. But what the makes of the CoD series have to do is bring back having for 4 people playing online of one console as with it just been 1 player sucks.
My verdict on PS3 vs Xbox 360 is that the xbox 360 is miles better the the PS3. I have played a couple of games on the PS3 and then played them on the 360 and preferred how the 360 played them felt the speed play was quicker and graphics were clear.
